Creating Properly Aligned Disks for Linux Virtual Machines

This is a cross post of the recent communities article by our fellow Virtualization Reference Architect - Jon Benedict, author of the NetApp TR-3848 - "Best Practices for KVM on RHEL and NetApp Storage".

In this article, Jon describes how to properly align Linux disk images for use with NetApp unified storage. The article can be accessed here: http://communities.netapp.com/docs/DOC-8107

The information in this article will soon be included in the next version of the NetApp TR-3747 “Best Practices for File System Alignment in Virtual Environments”.

Please feel free to leave comments/feedback on the original post by Jon.
